i'm flooded with emotions as i sit next to h. we are at children's hospital. she has an iv in her arm and is receiving migraine medicine - torodol, benadryl, and reglan. Really... for a 4 yr old??? Migraines already! i hoped my girls wouldn't suffer from these painful, tedious headaches.
i promised h going into our 12-hour hospital ordeal that she wouldn't need a shot. children's hospital made a liar out of me! the nurse started preping her just moments into a much needed rest. with a tourniquet already around her arm, a sleepy h woke to say, "please don't give me a shot." after promising a trip to ghepettos to buy a toy of her choice she sat up and with crocodile tears streaming down her face said, "ok, just a little one, alright?" her easy going nature continues to inspire and amaze me and my *particular* nature. i'm grateful to report that she has been pain-free for several hours. i pray that this is a one-time event. no one should ever have to experience watching their child suffer... heartbreaking.
